PERFORMING IS LIFE AND LIFE IS MUSIC
We have performed at barbecues, bars, events, and even for birthday parties and every time, it's all about having fun and creating a festive environment. Music brings out life in us; celebrations of existence and when you have 151 Band in your camp, you're sure to have a blast!
THE BAND FORMERLY KNOWN AS "SIGNAL 8"
Ron "Gorilla" Black (Guitar): Ron has been in music since he was young and building 151 Band was a dream come true. Ron was the afternoon drive guy on WKY radio and the political analyst for Fox 25. Looks like he turned in his mic for a guitar.
Cal Wagner (Drums): Hailed as one of the most talented drummers in Central Oklahoma, Cal is the heartbeat of the 151 Band. When there were questions as to whether or not the band would stick it out, it was Ron and Cal who kept it going.
Katie Hightower (Vocals): Katie may be a small package, but she delivers a mighty punch as a front woman and vocalist. Throw in some guitar and her songwriting abilities and you get the incredible Katie Hightower.
Bob Kershaw (Bass/Vocals):
Bob is a resident of Midwest City, an accountant who, by night, is a bass-playing superstar. He's played guitar, drums, and has found his home on the "low end" because as he says; "It's all about the bass."
The members of 151 Band come from a variety of backgrounds and musical influences, so you are guaranteed an exciting, fun, and entertaining show every time.
151 Band is like the Baskin Robbins of Oklahoma Bands. And they are just as sweet.
You won't believe these guys.
They are as fun as they are talented and entertaining. A must-see band in Oklahoma City.
Fun to watch and dance to.
They had us laughing, dancing, made our night out one to remember!
Surprisingly new and innovative.
We saw them at Belle Isle Brewery and their versions of classics were tasteful and innovative. We are now hardcore fans!
Entertaining and fun!
We had the opportunity to meet these folks at their party at the Blow Out Club in Guthrie, OK. They were not only talented musicians, but they were fun to talk to and weren't afraid to interact with the audience. We go to almost all their shows now!
